As you’re all aware, amidst the grief and shock in Andrew’s passing, something truly amazing happened. His family suggested that instead of sending flowers and cards, that people instead donate the money to a charity in honour of him.
There were still a load of cards, so clearly they weren’t listening. BUT…….
The response to the charity appeal was ridiculously good. Due to a large volume of people looking to do so, a Just Giving Page was set up and within 24 hours, the total had already reached £40,000. And the number kept on rising. At the time of writing, the amount is a whopping £88,215.03 (not sure who gave the 3 pence), and with the tax back from Gift Aid, the amount is over the £100,000 mark.
First and foremost, a thank you is in order for both the amazing generosity, and also for the kind and often humorous words left by you all.

The money has been raised in support of Little Havens Childrens Hospice in Andrew’s home county of Essex, and it helps give terminally sick kids a better send off, whilst also helping their families cope.
On top of this, many of Andrew’s friends and family took place in the Baton of Life Fun Run in memory of Andrew. A good day was had by all (despite the weather) and most importantly, more money was raised for the charity. This is an annual run, so we hope to see more of you there next year.

The fun run raised another £34,225.76 on April 25th 2012
The final amount raised on June 6th 2013 Fun Run at Hyde Park was £71,719.00 for Little Havens Hospice, well done.
